Man shot in leg during home invasion in Brunswick West

MASKED offenders have shot a man in the leg after storming into a home in Melbourne’s inner north, before fleeing the scene.

A MAN has been shot in the leg during a terrifying home invasion in Melbourne’s inner north this morning.

Masked offenders broke into a Wales St, Brunswick West, home and shot a 26-year-old man in the leg, about 3.45am.

The victim was also assaulted by the masked offenders before they fled the scene.

The man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Victoria Police spokesman Thomas O’Byrne said four other people home at the time were uninjured.

Mr O’Byrne said the investigation was ongoing.
