Machete attacker charged over alleged police incident in Kilsyth
OFFICERS were confronted by a machete-wielding man in Melbourne’s east who then allegedly drove at them and rammed a police car.
POLICE have charged a 55-year-old man who allegedly drove a car at officers and rammed into their response vehicle before confronting them with a machete in Melbourne’s east overnight.
Officers attended Regina Street, Kilsyth, following complaints of an alleged fight about 10pm.
It is alleged the man rammed a police car and drove at officers before confronting them with a machete.
Police used capsicum spray on the man before he was arrested.

Maroondah Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged the Kilsyth man with 13 offences including conduct endangering life, two times assault police, possessing a controlled weapon and theft of motor vehicle.
He will appear before Ringwood magistrates court later today.
The police members were physically uninjured in the alleged assault.
