Jet skiers who allegedly endangered the lives of swimmers at a popular snorkelling spot face a string of charges over a series of dramatic events.

Jet skiers who allegedly endangered the lives of swimmers at a popular snorkelling spot are facing a string of charges over the incident that ended in the dramatic arrest of three men at a boat ramp.

Police patrolling Half Moon Bay in Melbourne’s southeast spotted a jet skier allegedly speeding through a no-boating zone, narrowly missing people in the water in November last year.

Three men were later arrested at a boat ramp where police allege one of the men assaulted an officer.

Police also investigated allegations of linked offending that occurred on November 16.

A 21-year old Craigieburn man, a 22-year old Fawkner man and a 24-year old Hatfield man have been charged with endangering life, dangerous operation of a vessel in a no-boat zone, speeding, operating a vessel without a life jacket, assault and hindering police.

The accused have been served with a summons to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on April 2.
