A man has been charged with dangerous driving causing death after allegedly ploughing into a pedestrian at a busy road in Melbourne’s inner suburbs.

Police allege the 69-year-old man hit a pedestrian with his car on Johnston Street in Abbotsford earlier this month.

The 74-year old pedestrian, who was jogging across the road at the time, died at the scene.

The South Yarra man has been charged with dangerous driving causing death and will appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday.
