A NEW mystery in the murder of the man in the expensive suit has emerged.

Paul Costa was found dead at the end of a trail of blood wearing a Ermenegildo Zegna suit, which can cost up to $5000, in a Melbourne park on Monday morning.

The 43-year-old was discovered at Dunstan Reserve in Brunswick West.

The Herald Sun reports there’s been a new twist in the mysterious crime, with a dog walker spotting Mr Costa’s car in a quiet street in Coburg, in Melbourne’s north.

The dog walker saw it less than an hour after Mr Costa’s body was discovered three kilometres away.

“It’s been there for days,” he said.

Forensic officers spent Thursday afternoon searching the murdered Melbourne man’s Nissan Patrol and a nearby park.

The 4WD was located on Berry Street in Coburg on Thursday, and police and State Emergency Service volunteers also searched the adjacent Robinson Reserve.

Mr Costa’s father Alex said they have no idea who would want to kill him, and thought he was dressed up for a date on Sunday night.

“We don’t know why he was wearing his suit and dress shoes,” he told the Herald Sun.

“He was very private, we thought he had a date.

“He was very kind, he wouldn’t even hurt a bird.”

Detective Senior Sergeant Stephen McIntyre said the man was thought to have been assaulted in the car park, possibly with a knife, sometime between 4pm on Sunday and Monday morning.

“We have a blood trail that leads from the car park to where the body has been located,” Detective Senior Sergeant McIntyre said.
