Bizarre robbery involving super-soaker filled with white paint and an e-scooter escape
CCTV shows the moment a man armed with a super-soaker sprays a milk bar worker with white paint as he demands one specific item.
CCTV footage has captured the moment a man armed with a super-soaker stormed a Melbourne milk bar demanding a can of soft drink.
The man dressed in all black entered the milk bar in Melbourne’s north east on Sunday, November 24 at about 7.20am.
Riding an electric scooter, police were told that he entered the store before asking the worker behind the counter for a free can of Red Bull.
The employee, Kiki Lin, 34, refused the man.
Police will allege that he then demanded cash before producing a super-soaker disguised in a laptop bag.
He then sprayed Ms Lin in her eyes with a stream of white paint.
Ms Lin called the man’s actions were “ridiculous”.
Footage shows the man returning to the store’s front door to close the shutter, trapping Ms Lin inside with him.
Ms Lin said she fought with the intruder, jumping on his back in an attempt to restrain him.
“He was too strong, he threw me on the ground and started to punch my head,” Ms Lin said, describing the attack as “very bad”.
“He punched my head, my face and my eyes, and my teeth at least”
Ms Lin managed to escape the store, with the man following her and continuing the assault outside on Heidelberg-Kinglake Road.
The man fled the scene, without the energy drink or cash, on what police believe is a black Hoverfly G4 electric scooter.
Ms Lin suffered facial injuries and bruising.
She has since returned to work at the milk bar.
Police are appealing for information or footage related to the incident.
The man is described as about 175cm tall with a solid build and aged in his 40s.
During the attack he was wearing a black hoodie with white paint on it, dark grey pants, a black LA Raiders cap, black socks and no shoes.
