A Kelpie dog cruelly stolen in Melbourne’s west over the weekend has been handed into an animal shelter.

Wyndham North police have been told three-year-old Addie was left in a car with the windows down on Saturday morning at a shopping centre car park in Derrimut Road, Tarneit.

Some time between 8.15am to 8.30am, it’s believed a man gained entry to the car’s driver side door and stole the pooch, before driving away in a white sedan.
