MASA Vukotic’s killer was on a mission to murder. Sean Christian Price wanted society to suffer for the hardships he had endured while behind bars.

“He said by killing he would let people know what no justice will look like ... and the beginning of a revolution,” his barrister said yesterday before Price sacked her at his pre-sentence hearing at the Victorian Supreme Court.

Price’s 17-year old victim was oblivious as she talked to the birds on an evening stroll through the park on March 17.

Price did not know her but he thought she looked wealthy. He chose her at random. In the wrong place at the wrong time, Price later told police.

The killer had spent 11 hours on Melbourne’s public transport system looking for a victim before getting on a bus to Doncaster.

When arrested a day later, Price gave police a rambling insight into his evil mind.

“I just hated society. It just builds up. I’m just like hating, hating, hating, it’s just hatred.

“I just thought, I’m going to stab and I’m going to hurt these f------ dogs,’’ he said.

“I thought, ‘Rich areas, these f------ c----, they don’t care unless it happens to them, unless it’s in their society’.”

He had walked about 1.6km from the bus stop to the Doncaster park.

“This chick was on the other side of the road and she’s coming up, yeah, and she’s like started talking to a bird like f------ Snow White,’’ he told police.

“I thought, ‘She’s dressed like f------ all yuppie’.”

Price told police his mind was made up.

“I f------ had to kill her … she ended up at the wrong place.”

Masa had enjoyed a meal with her family and finished her homework on the day she would die.

It was a routine night for the Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College student.

At 6.30pm Masa’s mum headed out to pick up her brother from soccer training. Masa told her mum she planned to go out for a walk later on, and she was reminded to take her phone and house keys with her.

There was still an hour of daylight left and it would be the last time Natasa Vukotic would see her daughter alive.

The sun had just set when she began to panic. Masa had not come home and was not answering her phone.

Her frantic mother hurried across to Koonung Creek Linear Park where police had congregated.

She told an officer she could not find her daughter. A senior sergeant approached and took her daughter’s description. It matched the bloody body of a young girl they had found dead in the bushes.

Masa’s phone, which was found on the footpath alongside her house key, had been ringing non-stop.

The officer asked for Mrs Vukotic’s phone and called her daughter. The phone on the footpath rang.

Price told police he had planned to kill again a day later, the day he was arrested.

After attacking a man and stealing his phone and attempting to carjack another, Price knew his hours as a free man were running out. His picture was broadcast across the country and he knew it.

It was then he decided to rape a random woman. At first he targeted a young worker in a video shop in Melbourne’s west, but became impatient when a customer wouldn’t stop chatting to her.

“This f---head just kept talking,’’ he told police.

Foiled, Price went next door to a religious bookshop, where he approached his unsuspecting victim.

Price told her he was interested in books offering scientific evidence that God existed. He then grabbed her and raped her.

As the woman fought for her life, Price smiled and mocked her. “Where’s your Jesus now?’’ he sneered.

The woman bit, scratched and gouged at Price’s eyes as he licked and sucked her face while choking her.

“I realised like she was fussing up too much and she was starting to change colours,’’ he told police.

“I was like, ‘F------not another one’.”

The woman was saved when her cries for help were heard and two people ran to her aid. Price jumped up and fled, punching a man who tried to stop him at the door.

Hours later he reported to his corrections officer and calmly announced: “I’m the Donny murderer.”
