A WOMAN accused of being a “great actor” allegedly factory reset her phone the morning after her former lover was shot and killed.

Paul Hogan was murdered on May 24 in Bacchus Marsh, 65km north west of Melbourne.

Hong Kong woman Yu Tung Lo claimed to know nothing about the murder of her former lover, but she will remain in jail because she couldn’t prove she lacked knowledge of the crime.

The 26-year-old was refused bail in the Victorian Supreme Court on Thursday and will remain in custody indefinitely until there is a trial.

Lo is being charged for murdering Mr Hogan as she allegedly got her friend Daniel Duhovic, 33, to do the killing.

The court heard Lo asked Duhovic to pick her up and help move her belongings from Mr Hogan’s house and allegedly texted him the night before saying, “I want to kill it”.

“She directly encouraged Duhovic to shoot the deceased,” crown prosecutor Kevin Doyle said.

Defence counsel George Georgiou SC said Lo should be released on bail because the prosecution had a “weak” case.

“There’s no evidence she was even aware of him (Duhovic) being armed,” he said.

Detective Senior Constable Glen Scharper alleges Lo erased data that may have linked her to Mr Hogan’s murder by performing a factory reset on her phone shortly after the shooting.

In a record of interview with police after she was arrested, Lo also denied any knowledge of the shooting and her friendship with Duhovic.

Police say the pair had been in a sexual relationship shortly after Lo arrived in Australia in June 2015.

Justice Robert Redlich said he could not grant Lo bail based on the Crown’s evidence before him.

“She went to quite extraordinary lengths to conceal the nature of her association with Duhovic,” he said.

“She concealed her presence at the scene of the shooting and denied any knowledge of the shooting.”

Lo has previously been accused of being a “great actor” who manipulated the men in her life.

Sen-Constable Scharper told the court earlier this month Lo was a “self-confessed liar”.

“Every male she has come in to contact with is manipulated by her,” he said.

Lo has been remanded into custody until a possible trial, which is not expected to take place for another 20 months.
