SIX men plan to fight charges related to an alleged plan to travel by boat to Indonesia and then on to Syria to join Islamic State fighters.

A tentative date of May 15 has been set for a five-day contested committal hearing for the men, who face a single charge each of making preparations for incursions into foreign countries to engage in hostile activities.

One of the six, Islamic preacher Robert ‘Musa’ Cerantonio, appeared in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court via videolink on Wednesday for a brief hearing during which prosecutors said there were “well over 100 witnesses” in the case.
