A 14-HOUR overnight siege has come to a dramatic end after tactical police stormed a house in Melbourne.
A 14-HOUR siege has come to a dramatic end after tactical police stormed a home in Melbourne’s northwest overnight.
Armed police surrounded the house in Duffy St, Maribyrnong, about 3.30pm yesterday.
The situation began after police went to arrest a 43-year-old man over a domestic incident.

He was alone and no one was injured in the incident and he was not armed.
Channel 7 reported its newsroom received a call from a man inside the house, threatening to burn the house down if police attempted to enter.

Some residents were locked out of their homes while negotiations with the man were ongoing.
As negotiations continued into the night, a police dog was brought in to end the siege.
Police confirmed the man was brought down by a canine unit and taken to hospital for treatment.
Radio broadcaster 3AW reported the man may have been lured out with cigarettes.
He was taken to a waiting police car where he was met by paramedics.
