ALLEGED Melbourne crime figure Nabil Maghnie is in custody after he allegedly rammed another vehicle and flipped his car in the city’s southwest.

The 42-year-old appeared before Melbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with 20 offences, including reckless conduct endangering serious injury and dealing with the proceeds of crime.

Maghnie, also known as Nabil Moughnieh, was charged on Wednesday after he allegedly rammed a vehicle at Altona Meadows and flipped his vehicle at Point Cook when he hit a barrier, according to charge sheets.

Police allege Maghnie was speeding right before his car flipped. It’s understood he was trapped in the car and needed to be freed by emergency services.

Police also found prescription drugs in the crashed vehicle as well as $3390 cash suspected of being the proceeds of crime.

A lawyer for Maghnie told magistrate Simon Zebrowski that Maghnie needed to see medical staff as a result of the crash.

The married father infamously drove himself to hospital after being shot in the head in 2016.

In 2011, he was a victim of another non-fatal shooting at Broadmeadows at the hands of another alleged crime figure.

Maghnie was last in court on January 18, after being released on bail a week earlier over separate charges linked to two firearms found during police raids. In May 2017, police raided his Bundoora home — where he lives with his family — seizing $7000, a 2010 Lamborghini, and small amounts of cannabis and methamphetamine.

Simultaneously, police raided the home of one of Moughnieh’s close associates, seizing a number of guns, ammunition, a pill press and $11,500. Police have previously said Maghnieh’s DNA was found on two guns, including a rifle with a silencer.

Anti-bikie detectives believe Maghnie is feuding with ex-Bandido enforcer Toby Mitchell and former friend Samson Bazi, the alleged Victorian sergeant-at-arms of the Comanchero bikie gang.

Maghnie has been remanded in custody and will appear before Sunshine Magistrates Court on

March 29.
