Masa Vukotic’s killer Sean Price has to be subdued by tear gas in jail
SEAN Price, the killer of Melbourne schoolgirl Masa Vukotic, got tear gas and the riot squad for his 32nd birthday.
THE killer of Melbourne schoolgirl Masa Vukotic was sprayed with tear gas by prison guards after he lost the plot in his cell on his 32nd birthday.
Sean Price, who is waiting for sentence for the March 2015 murder of 17-year-old Masa, will likely face disciplinary action over the incident in which he brandished a knife behind some sort of shield.
Guards in riot gear were forced to use tear gas to bring Price under control, the Herald Sun reports.
A Corrections Victoria spokesman told news.com.au: “Officers from the Security and Emergency Services Group were called in to remove an MRC prisoner from his cell after he became agitated. Officers used tear gas to help them extract the prisoner safely.”
The spokesman said internal disciplinary action over the incident was a possibility.
It’s believed the incident happened on Price’s birthday.
Both inmates and prison staff have been aware of Price’s explosive anger after several incidents during previous stints behind bars.
The brutal death of Masa Vukotic shocked Australia and sparked a massive outpouring of grief in her community of Doncaster. She had been stabbed 49 times while she had been out for an evening walk.
During a pre-sentence hearing in Supreme Court in December, Price said he had refused to take antipsychotic medication in the past but would consider it in the future.
He told the hearing he knew there was “something is wrong with me up top” and spoke of the day Masa was killed.
He’d planned to kill that day to get “a rush”.
“My intentions were evil. Just the fact that you’re a deviant when you’re doing it, that’s what really gets you off”.
He will be sentenced at a later date.
