Man injured in tomahawk attack in Heidelberg West

Emergency crews were called to a house in Melbourne overnight after a 20-year-old man was attacked with the weapon.
The man was visiting a friend in Heidelberg West when two men and a woman pulled up to the home in a maroon sedan.
They asked to speak with one of the men but the other was attacked with the weapon.
The trio fled the scene and the victim went to a nearby house for help, Nine News reported, adding the victim may have been at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Witness Ben Middleton told Nine he saw the man with blood everywhere who was screaming that he had been attacked with a tomahawk.
“This guy came over screaming “help” he got tomahawked to the head,” he told the broadcaster.
“He was minding the house for his mate, traumatic his head is cut open and he went to hospital in the back of the ambulance.”
The trio fled the scene, taking off in a Marion sedan.
Police have asked anyone who might help identity the three to contact Crime Stoppers.
The victim was taken to The Northern Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
