A MAN accused of the stabbing murder of a Bendigo teenager has let a court know he is on multiple medications.

Odin Gillin, 19, appeared via video link in the Bendigo Magistrates’ Court, charged with murdering Hayden Coleman, 18, in Ironbank on Saturday.

Gillin’s defence lawyer, Peter Baker, told the court on Tuesday his client was being seen by a forensic medical officer.

He said Gillin was on some prescribed medications, including an antidepressant.

Gillin, wearing a grey T-shirt, told the court he was also on the drug Valium.

“I’ve been taking it for a very long time,” he said via video link.

Police say Mr Coleman was stabbed in Energetic Street in Ironbark, a suburb of Bendigo, about 7pm on Saturday.

He died before he could be taken to hospital.

The victim’s siblings have written about their grief on social media, saying Mr Coleman was kind-hearted and respectful.

“We wish the rest of the world could of known you like we did,” his siblings said on Sunday.

They said while they were “a man down”, they were stronger knowing there is an angel watching over them.

No application for bail was made.

The accused is set to return to court for a committal mention on January 18 next year.
