Drug trafficking charges for alleged Mongols
An alleged Mongols sergeant-at-arms and another man have been charged with trafficking cocaine and meth after police raided properties near Cobram.
Two men allegedly linked to the Mongols have been charged with drug trafficking offences after early morning police raids.
Joshua Eddy, 29, and David Eddy, 51, from Cobram appeared in the Shepparton Magistrates Court on Monday after they were charged following the raids linked to the Mongols bikie gang.
The 29-year-old Cobram man is allegedly the local sergeant-at-arms, according to Victoria Police.
His lawyer Theo Magazis said it was Joshua Eddy’s first time in custody.
He has been charged with trafficking a large commercial quantity of cocaine and methamphetamine on Sunday.
Mr Eddy is also charged with being a prohibited person in possession of a “scope” and dealing with the proceeds of crime including a Harley Davidson, Range Rover and $30,000 in cash.
The 51-year-old Cobram man was arrested on the Barooga-Cobram Bridge after crossing the border into Victoria about 1.50am on Sunday, Victoria Police said.
Police allegedly uncovered a loaded firearm and a “significant” quantity of cash in his possession.
He is charged with trafficking a large commercial quantity of meth and cocaine, possessing an unregistered handgun, possessing an imitation firearm and dealing with proceeds of crime including cash and a Holden Commodore.
Both men were remanded and will return to court in October.
The men appeared in court after police raided residential and commercial properties across Cobram and were among seven charged.
Items seized from raids allegedly included cash, drugs including 2.5kg of cocaine, a loaded handgun, vehicles including a Range Rover, Holden Commodore and illegal fireworks.
