A MAN has died and two people have been arrested after an assault in the state’s south west.

Police are investigating following the fatal assault in Warrnambool believed to have occurred Wednesday night.
Emergency services were called to a Suzanne Court property just after 1.30pm Thursday.
A 57-year-old man was found with injuries and was taken to hospital where he died last night.
Police have arrested a 44-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman believed to be known to the victim, both are currently being interviewed.
The exact circumstances are yet to be determined and Homicide Squad detectives will investigate.
