The popular snack item sold in IKEA stores has been urgently recalled across Australian states amid safety concerns.
A popular bag of lollies sold in Australian IKEA stores have been urgently recalled over safety concerns.
A recall from the Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) was issued for the Gott & Blandat Original 150g and 550g jelly candy, for failing to declare the presence of allergens including wheat and gluten.
The bags of lollies were available for purchase at IKEA stores in NSW, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, Western Australia and ACT.
The FSANZ urges consumers who have a wheat or gluten allergy or intolerance to not consume the lollies.
“Any consumers who have a wheat and gluten allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed,” the recall read.
A spokesperson for IKEA Australia has confirmed the lollies are no longer for sale at Australian stores, and urged customers to return the product for a full refund.
“As soon as we were notified of the labelling error, the product was removed from all 10 IKEA Australia stores, on Tuesday 8 October 2024,” the spokesperson said.
Anyone concerned about their health should seek medical advice.
The recall affects products marked: 160g BB 08/08/25 BB 22/08/25, 550g BB 22/07/25
