LETTER OF THE DAY

Crack down on right-lane hoggers

I VERY much enjoy driving patients to treatment for Cancer Council Tasmania and spend considerable time on the road. There seems to be blind ambivalence to the highway rules that you must remain left unless overtaking. I recently drove on the Eastern Outlet from Rosny to the airport and noticed a driver remained in the right lane for the entire journey. I also noticed a police motorcycle following the driver for part of the journey but they did not intervene. This is a risky practice and should be more robustly policed.
