A MUCH FASTER SITE WITH MORE ON OFFER
One of the key benefits of the new website is that it will be much faster. Stories will load faster and the layout will be cleaner with less getting in the way of your reading experience.
We will also have much better national and state sports coverage, more columnists, more expert money and business advice, and great lifestyle and entertainment content from across the News network.
MY NEWS FEED
Staying informed about what’s happening where you live is important.
This is the driving force behind a new feature that allows subscribers to find more stories that matter on themercury.com.au.
Introducing the My News Feed.
No matter how you read the news, it’s an exciting new premium feature for subscribers.
You’ll now notice Follow buttons appearing next to journalist names on stories, and across sections on the website and mobile site.
Allowing you to become the editor of your own feed, the new Follow option gives you the power to customise My News Feed to stay across the latest topics, events and journalists that matter to you.
YOUR LOCAL
Live in Burnie and want to know what’s happening close to you? Or maybe you’re a proud resident of Launceston, the West or East Coast.
Our reporters cover every corner of this wonderful city. Our new site goes further than ever to help you find out what’s going on in your area.
Navigate to the ‘Local’ tab at the top of our page and you can choose to see news from the East Coast, Hobart & South, Launceston, North West Coast and West Coast.
You can also choose to follow these new sections in your My News Feed.
DIGITAL EDITION
We’ve also retained the favourite features of our existing website, including the digital edition, which provides readers with an online copy of that day’s print edition of the Mercury.
Find it in the ‘Read Today’s Paper’ tab at the top left of our new site.
