AN injured bushwalker from New South Wales is recovering in Burnie after being airlifted from Tasmania’s Cradle Mountain National Park.

AN injured bushwalker from New South Wales is recovering in Burnie after being airlifted to safety from Tasmania’s Cradle Mountain National Park.

The 31-year-old woman slipped and hurt her knee yesterday while on a day walk with her husband near Crater Lake.

The couple was flown by the Westpac Rescue helicopter to the Cradle Mountain Visitors Centre, where they were met by a Tasmania Ambulance crew.

The woman was taken to Burnie’s North West Regional Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, Tasmania Police have advised the public that a helicopter will be flying over Hobart today to conduct power line surveying for TasNetworks.

The surveying will take place between 8am and 5pm over Hobart’s CBD and Rose Bay.
