No blank spaces as Telegraph Hotel readies for packed Super Bowl morning celebration

Hobart’s American football fans will have a ready-made haven for the season’s climax next month, when the Telegraph Hotel rolls out the welcome mat for Super Bowl LVIII.

Hobart NFL fans have a ready-made haven for the American season’s climax, as the Telegraph Hotel rolls out the welcome mat for Super Bowl LVIII.

Venue manager Clifton Newton said that with the decider between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers due to kick off at 10.30am local time on Monday 12 February, his venue would open its doors at 9am to allow patrons to enjoy the all pre-game excitement.

Mr Newton said it was the second Super Bowl event the hotel had hosted since it underwent major renovations, and was the perfect spot for Hobart fans to meet for the Las Vegas-based football showdown.

“We’ll do specials on pizzas, burgers, hot dogs, and loaded fries,” he said.

“There will be beer and American-style bloody Marys, and we are expecting another good crowd here to watch the game.”

Always a VIP magnet, this year’s Super Bowl will have an dash of celebrity spice with superstar musician Taylor Swift to fly back from her Eras Tour to watch boyfriend - Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce - battle it out in Allegiant Stadium.

Mr Newton did not know whether the Tay-Tay factor would help bring more fans through his doors, but was nonetheless expecting a colourful turnout from Tasmanian fans.

“People who follow the NFL are always pretty keen to show their colours,” he said.

“We are always very grateful for all the support from people who come out on the day to have a good time, and we feel really lucky that we can celebrate this big event in the calendar.”
