ORGANISERS of A Festival Called Panama have announced a pretty pimpin’ first peek of the 2017 line-up.
The boutique three-day festival is diving straight into its fourth year with a mix of international and local legends including US artists Kurt Vile and Margaret Glaspy as well as Hobart locals A. Swayze and the Ghosts and Melbourne lo-fi trio Tinpan Orange.
Running from March 10-12, the festival gives patrons the opportunity to see bands they’ve never heard of playing next to international cult heroes.
Other acts on the bill include D. D Dumbo, Koi Child, Gabriella Cohen, Jack Grace, The Stitch and L.A. podcast The Memory Palace — with more to be announced.
Once again set among the pristine foothills of the Lone Star Valley — about 50km north-east of Launceston — the annual folk festival will be offering more than just music with the return of the wildly popular late night cabaret, pop up bars and local food.
Previous acts to grace the Panama stages include Courtney Barnett, Charles Bradley, Haitus Kaiyote, CW Stoneking, Slum Sociable, Sharon Van Etten and Big Scary.
After two sell-out years in 2015 and 2016, the festival has upped the ticket allocation this year from 1250 to 1400.
Tickets will go on sale on November 22.
