THE desperate mother of a missing Hobart man has pleaded for someone to come forward with information about her son.
THE desperate mother of a missing Hobart man has pleaded for someone to come forward with information about her son.
Naz Woldemicheal, 19, has been missing for several weeks, and was last seen leaving his North Hobart unit early last month.
His mother Hirut sent out a tearful plea from her Eastern Shore home today, asking for anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact police.
“Tell him to come home,” she cried.
“I don’t think our life could be the same without him.
“He is my baby.”
Tasmania Police said they believed the young man was still alive but might be suffering from mental health issues.
Sergeant Sarah Crabtree said they were concerned for his welfare but did not suspect foul play.
“We haven’t been able to confirm anything, we believe he is probably avoiding contact because he fears he could be in trouble — but he is not in any trouble,” Sgt Crabtree said.
“We just really want to hear from him, his mother really needs to hear from him.”
Police are continuing their investigations and monitoring his bank accounts.
Sgt Crabtree said there was no indications he had left the city, with several suspected sightings around the CBD and North Hobart.
Mr Woldmicheal was last seen Sunday October 9 when he left his unit at Trinity House, North Hobart.
He is described as being about 170cm tall and of thin build with curly short black hair.
Anyone with information that may assist police to locate Nazrawi and make sure he is OK is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 (this can be done anonymously) or the Hobart Police Station on 6230 2111.
