Cygnet woman wins $6 million division-one Powerball jackpot
AN Aston Martin is atop the shopping list for Tasmania’s newest multi-millionaire.
THE tiny Tasmanian hamlet of Cygnet is home to the state’s newest multi-millionaire after one lucky resident won a $6m Powerball jackpot.
The woman, who has chosen to remain anonymous, scooped the division-one pool in last night’s draw.
“Oh god no, I never thought we’d win,” she said in a statement issued today.
“My daughter won division-one years ago, and we’ve had an aunty and friend that have also won — everybody around us.
“But now we’ve done and trumped them all!”
As well as cruising the world’s oceans, the woman has grand plans on the automotive front.
“I’ll trade my car in and buy something I really want,” she said.
“I can afford an Aston Martin I’ve always dreamed of — the one James Bond used to drive.”
She bought her winning 12-game QuickPick entry online.
