AS YOU wake up this morning, you may feel an overwhelming sense of Australian pride and a burning desire to eat copious amounts of Vegemite on toast.

Do not be alarmed

It is your ace Aussie radar telling you Australia Day is the day when you can get your budgie smugglers on and let loose with a stubbie or two.

In honour of Australia Day 2015, Twitter are taking a look back at just how ‘bloody’ well Aussies celebrated Australia Day last year and let us tell you, it was a ‘bloody ripper’.

We welcomed new Australians.

We woke up with friends.

And started the day with a nutritious brekkie.

We celebrated with family and friends on our beautiful beaches.

And felt the love from those across the world.

There were activities for all.

Patriotism was strong.

The locals were out to play.

No day would be complete without a game of beach cricket.

Or a dip in the pool to cool down.

We threw some snags on the barbie.

And a few prawns (not shrimp) too.
