Festive joy was shared with hundreds of vulnerable kids at a special Christmas party held at Bird in Hand Winery.
Festive joy was shared with 220 vulnerable kids at a special KickStart for Kids Christmas Party at Bird in Hand Winery on Friday afternoon.
Festive joy, laughter, and sweet treats filled the air as 200 disadvantaged children kicked off the holiday season with Christmas presents, a jumping castle, and an ice cream truck at the popular winery.
A Welcome to Country and a dance workshop led by Jack Buckskin was also added to the fun of the afternoon.
Staff from SkyCity Adelaide and News Corp Australia bought and wrapped Christmas presents, which were placed under a tree at The Advertiser office in the lead-up to Friday.
On the day of the event, Santa Claus handed out the gifts to each child.
KickStart For Kids is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to supporting children in need by providing breakfasts and lunches, vacation activities, future pathway guidance, and a program to address period poverty.
The event not only spread festive cheer but also highlighted the important work done by KickStart For Kids, which continues to make a significant difference in the lives of vulnerable children across South Australia.
Head of The Advertiser Foundation, Dan Demaria thanked staff from The Advertiser and SkyCity Adelaide for donating the presents to the 220 children in attendance and for Bird In Hand Winery for hosting the party.
“I don’t think I made for a very convincing Father Christmas handing the presents out - although a few kids said they thought I had been working out and looked in shape which was nice of them,” Mr Demaria said.
