Police are investigating how a man died after his body was discovered in the ocean near a popular seaside holiday spot.

The body of 61-year-old man has been found in the ocean at a popular holiday spot as police investigate how he died.

SA Police confirmed the body of the man, who is yet to be formally identified, was found in the ocean near the jetty at Glenelg, Adelaide on Thursday morning.

Police were called to the scene at 6.50am after the 61-year-old man was found face down in the water.

Western District CIB and crime scene investigators have launched an investigation into the cause of the man’s death, but it’s not believe to be suspicious.

A man and woman reportedly made the grim discovery while walking along the beach on Tuesday, according to the Advertiser.
