Primary school girls wander off, found at massage clinic
Young students who sparked a police search have been found nearby their school at a massage clinic.
Schoolgirls aged six and seven who wandered off from school have been found at a massage clinic.
The incident happened shortly before the final bell on Tuesday afternoon in the Adelaide suburb of Morphett Vale.
Police were alerted by the school when the alarm was raised.
The girls were found about an hour later at the massage clinic, which does remedial, naturopath, chiropractic and NDIS work.
The students wandered off from Pimpala Primary School in the southern suburbs.
A South Australia Department for Education spokesperson said the alarm was raised quickly.
“Fifteen minutes before the end of the school day on Tuesday, two students were provided with permission to go to the toilet but decided to walk off-site,” the spokesperson said.
“Their absence was noticed within minutes and their parents/carers, who were at the school, were advised.
“A search began and the school immediately contacted SA Police.
“The students were safely located at a business about an hour after they went missing.
“The school also advised the Department for Education and wellbeing support has been provided to the students, their families and staff,” the spokesperson said.
The Adelaide Advertiser named the business the girls walked to as Floreat Natural and Remedial Therapies. The clinic is at least a 1.6km walk from the school, across a busy dual carriageway.
The business declined to comment. The school has been approached for comment.
