Moment mum learns 4-year-old daughter drowned in family pool
A neighbour has shared the devastating moment the woman’s screams echoed up the street.
A neighbour has shared more heart-wrenching details about a four-year-old girl who drowned in an Adelaide swimming pool.
Kreya Patel, 4, was unconscious when her father Jigar pulled her out of the pool at the family’s Klemzig home on Thursday morning.
Paramedics rushed to the home about 10.20am before Kreya was taken to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
She died later that day.
Neighbour Pooja Rani, 37, said she could hear the little girl’s mother, Dipti Patel, screaming as she returned home from work.
“At the time the girl fell into the water, only her dad was home and (her) mum was at work,” Ms Rani told theAdvertiser.
“But I saw the mum running down the street and she was crying.
“Later when she reached the house there was a very loud scream.”
Police confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the girl’s death.
Next-door neighbour Himanshu Patel, 28, said Mr Patel had been working in the family’s garden when Kreya drowned.
