Man who hit police officer with car run over shortly after
A man who hit a police officer with his car has been given a taste of his own medicine after running into traffic to get away.
A man who allegedly hit a police officer with his vehicle in Adelaide on Monday afternoon has also being hit by a car while trying to escape.
Both men received non-life threatening injuries and are recovering in hospital.
The incident occurred around 4pm on Merlin Rd in the suburb of Fulham Gardens.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene after an officer was struck by a man driving a 4WD, sustaining serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The driver fled the scene, dumping the 4WD a short time later near Grange Rd and continuing on foot.
When confronted by police, the man ran onto the road and into oncoming traffic, where he was also struck by a car.
He was taken under police guard to the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Investigations are ongoing.
