A man has died in a tragic accident after a tree branch fell on his pergola, trapping him underneath.

Emergency services attended the victim’s Surrey Down home on Amanda Dr, in Adelaide’s northeast, about 9.15pm on Saturday night.

The 57-year-old man died at the scene while another man sustained minor injuries and was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

Police are now preparing a report for the coroner.

It was only a month ago that Judy Ditter was killed in a similar accident.

The 59-year-old teacher from Crafters was driving along Mount Barker Road when the branch fell on top of her car at Stirling.
