Man arrested, expected to be charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting another person in face
A man who was shot in the face remains in a critical condition, while the person suspected of firing the weapon has been located and arrested.
A man is expected to be charged with attempted murder and firearms offences after he allegedly shot another person in the face in Adelaide's northern suburbs.
The suspect, aged 31 from no fixed address, was arrested after his silver Mitsubishi sedan crashed into a bollard along Fradd Rd at Angle Vale at about 1.45am on Monday morning.
Police recognised the vehicle – which was abandoned by the driver – as being involved in the shooting and set up cordons around the area.
The driver was located a short distance away from the collision and was found with a firearm in his possession after officers searched him.
The suspect was apprehended over the incident that left a 27-year-old man in a critical condition because he was shot in the face along Burwood Rd at Munno Para West on Saturday night.
The victim presented at the Lyell McEwin Hospital with the gunshot wound and was then rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he remains.
Both men are believed to know each other.
After the suspect is charged – which is expected to be later on Monday – he will be summonsed to appear in court.
