She was found to have a box cutter and two pairs of scissors in her possession.

The 36-year-old woman from Blackwood was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where she will be assessed and on her release she will likely be charged with carrying an offensive weapon and assault.

Three police officers surrounded a woman who appeared to be shouting in their direction.

As she stepped towards one, they discharged the weapon and she dropped to the ground.

She rolled onto her stomach then onto her back, at first clutching one hand around her arm.

Both arms then flailed around by her sides as she writhed from the effect of the taser.
