A woman who was six times over the legal alcohol limit will front court after allegedly crashing a car and fleeing the scene.

SA Police say the driver of the Subaru sedan, 35, left the scene of a crash in Glenelg South on Wednesday.

Officers were called to the scene about 3.30pm following reports of a hit and run and found the car stopped on Maroong Avenue.

The woman was breath tested and allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.315.

Police allege she crashed into a Toyota sedan, which was parked nearby on Farrell Street, before witnesses reported the Subaru driving off.

The Glenelg woman has lost her licence for a year, and her car was towed from the scene.

She was also reported for drink-driving, driving without due care and leaving the scene of a crash.

She will appear in court at a later date.
