Chilling security footage shows moment Adelaide mum wakes to find masked intruders metres away
This is the spinechilling moment an Adelaide mum screams in terror as she wakes to find two masked men metres away.
Spine-chilling security footage has captured the moment an Adelaide mum woke to find two masked men standing in her kitchen metres away from her.
The young mother of two, who has not been identified, is heard in the clip screaming in terror, “What! What are you doing? Get out!”
A group of four young men broke into the family’s Ingle Farm home on Monday morning, taking off with a handbag containing house and car keys, 9News reports.
“I just opened my eyes and seen a man standing there in my kitchen,” the mum told the broadcaster.
“It took me a second to realise what was going on, and once the second walked through the back door is when the penny dropped. I can’t even explain the rush of emotions and fear that ran through me, and I just jumped up and screaming.”
The mum added “we could have died”.
“They were all masked up, gloved up,” she said. “They were prepared. Who knows what they could have had on them, who knows what they were going to do to me and the family.”
She said police had told her they had “grave concerns” the robbers would return given they had their keys — and despite changing their locks, on Saturday night, it appears they did.
A similar group of four men were seen on security cameras walking up the driveway just after midnight and taking off with their Mercedes Benz.
Police tracked the stolen car heading from the CBD to the town of Dublin, about 60 kilometres north, and then all the way to Point Pearce, about 200 kilometres away.
The offenders are still at large, and police are helping the family with extra security measures.
“It’s just a horrible way to live, and my family shouldn’t have to live like this,” the mum said.
