11-year-old boy taken to hospital in critical condition after being hit by train
An 11-year-old boy was taken to hospital after he was hit by a train during the morning peak hour.
A young boy is fighing for life after being has been struck by a train during the busy morning commute.
Just before 8.15am on Tuesday, police and emergency services were called to the Tambelin Railway Station in Adelaide’s north after reports an 11-year-old boy had been struck by a train.
SA Ambulance Service told NCA NewsWire the boy suffered head injuries and had been transported to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
Services along the Gawler train line between Elizabeth and Gawler had been halted, but were reactive as of 11.35am.

Witnesses at the scene told The Advertiser people were running alongside the train banging on the door.
“I saw his body and when I saw him he was (moving),” one passenger told The Advertiser.
“Outside our window was where he ended up,” another witness said.
“I didn’t notice him until after the train was stopped. It was a bit of a shock.”
SA Police advised Clark Road along the railway has been shut and commuters should avoid the area.

The child’s remains in a critical condition.
