Cars get a taste of their own medicine as ‘idiot’ cyclists overtake them

A clip shows a group of cyclists overtaking cars on a downhill mountain road, narrowly missing head-on collisions.

Who hasn’t overtaken a cyclist because of their frustratingly slow speed?

Well, today cars in Adelaide Hills got a taste of their own medicine when they found themselves being overtaken by a group of “idiot” cyclists going at high speeds down the mountain.

A driver took to social media to show the hair-raising footage along the winding, downhill mountain road.

The clip shows a cyclist overtaking a car on a single-lane road to join his two cycling buddies, just seconds before a car comes from the opposite direction around the blind corner.

The two other cyclists then overtake the next car at the same time, once again narrowly missing a head-on collision with oncoming traffic.

The cyclists overtook cars at high speeds on a blind corner more than once.

A steady stream of cars is then shown to be coming from the other direction.

“Cyclists complain about cars all the time, but then they are seen doing this sorta sh*t,” Alex Smith commented along with his video.

“Look at them threading the needle past the first car, then they overtake a van on the outside of a totally blind corner …”

Other social media users weren’t too impressed with the cyclists either.

“Idiots!!” one woman said. “All the times we have to wait around for them and be careful around them and then here they are intentionally putting themselves at risk as well as putting others at risk. Although the car will cause much more damage to them then they would to the car, it’s the impact on the person that does come into the path of the bike rider.”

“This is why cyclist need ID plates so that they can be reported and charged when they ride so stupidly,” another said.

The cyclists were also described as being “not the sharpest pencil in the box” and “organ donors” among other things.

Others had a few words for the motorists, though.

“How slow are the cars going for a cyclist to be able to ride past them?” one man said.

“You’re just pissed he overtook and was faster then you,” said another.
