Bomb squad called in after police find small possible explosive device in Osborne, SA, home

The bomb squad had to be called into a home in South Australia after police raids uncovered a suspected explosive device before a couple were arrested.

The bomb squad was called in after police raids uncovered a suspected “small explosive device” during raids in South Australia.

Just before 8.30am on Friday police searched a home on Moldavia Walk in Osborne and located 28g of a substance alleged to be methamphetamine and a small tubular device wrapped in tape, believed to be an explosive device.

The police Bomb Response Unit was called in and took it away.

Police will allege they also found several items alleged to be stolen including an E-bike.

A 36-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were arrested and charged with a string of offences including trafficking a controlled drug, producing a prohibited substance, money laundering, theft and possessing an explosive device.

The man was refused bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.

The woman has been bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court in February.
