Alarming broadcast on bus sparks police response
An Aussie driver has caught the moment a terrifying message was broadcast on the back of a bus.
An Adelaide driver has captured the moment a bus driver lit up their emergency distress display.
In the terrifying footage, a bus can be seen with the words “Call - Police” flashing in bright orange letters above the back window.
The person raising the alarm can be heard on the phone to police while tailing the public bus towards the city centre.
The clip gathered over 600,000 views online with concerned viewers quick to comment.
“I’ve never seen anything like this,” said one person.
Others revealed their experiences with emergency distress signals saying, “This happened to me years ago and I didn’t know what to do”.
Another said, “I did this the other day. They [police] asked me the bus number and bus route. I had no idea as all I could see was that message”.
An emergency responder can be heard telling the concerned caller that they do “get quite a few of these and quite often it is a false alarm”.
He then added that the caller had “done the right thing”.
