Adelaide weather: Warm morning with a chance of thunderstorms

Adelaide is set for a muggy Thursday with a chance of thunderstorms as temperatures are expected to push towards 30C in the metropolitan area.

Adelaide is set for a warm and humit Thursday morning with a chance of thunderstorms as temperatures are expected to push towards 30C in the metropolitan area..

Elizabeth is tipped for a top of 29C, while a high of 27C is forecast for the city with a medium chance of rain and the chance of a morning thunderstorm.

However, footy fans can expect a pleasant night for Port Adelaide’s final at the Adelaide Oval with a clear night with little wind and evening temperatures of about 24C.

A hot Thursday is in store for much of the rest of the state with 39C forecast for at Tarcoola, Port Augusta a top of 35C, Murray Bridge 32C and Clare 30C.

Lightning has been spotting at Port Lincoln this morning where showers are expected and a top of 23C.

Temperatures are set to drop on Friday as rain is set to develop across the state.

Adelaide has a very high chance of rain on Friday, most likely in the late morning and afternoon, with a top of 20C.

For the weekend, Adelaide is expected to hit a top of 18C for both Saturday and Sunday with possible showers late on the weekend.

Showers are expected in the northern agricultural area and southern parts of pastoral districts on Saturday with isolated showers developing around the southern coastal districts.
