Covid testing clinics in WA are experiencing "high demand" in the wake of the Victorian outbreak and impending lockdown, forcing them to turn people away.

Coronavirus testing clinics in Western Australia are currently experiencing high demand in the wake of Victoria's outbreak – and impending lockdown – and have asked residents who aren't presenting symptoms and haven't been in Victoria to avoid coming in for testing.

"If you are a Western Australian who is asymptomatic and who has recently not been to Victoria, please do not present for testing," WA Health said in a message tonight.

Earlier, Premier Mark McGowan announced that his state would also lock out Victorian travellers.
