A TOOWOOMBA snake catcher has captured the moment a brown snake tried to eat another live brown snake.
Toowoomba Snake Catchers 24/7 shared the video on its Facebook page, The Chronicle reports.
The two snakes were found on a property near a water tank, with one brown slowly swallowing the other.
When snake catcher Dave Wiedman bent down to stop the cannibalism, the larger snake regurgitated its prey.
“It’s the first time I’ve seen a brown eat a brown, and as soon as I came on to it, he regurgitated it and didn’t want a bar of it,” Mr Wiedman said.
The smaller brown snake died as a result of the attack.
The larger snake was relocated.
