Tiahleigh Palmer murder probe: Muddy shoe found in river search
POLICE have uncovered fresh evidence in the search for the killer of Logan schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer.
A MUD-covered shoe belonging to murdered schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer has been discovered just metres from where the schoolgirl’s body was found last month.
Tia disappeared on October 30 after being dropped to Marsden State High School by her foster parent.
Her body was found on the banks of the Pimpama River by fishermen six days later.
Police divers have returned to the site several times since and made a minor breakthrough on Sunday with the discovery of the shoe, about 100m from where Tia’s body was discovered and on the opposite side of the river.
Detective Superintendent Dave Hutchinson from the South Eastern Police Region said it was a positive lead and could help search crews locate more clues.
He said police were following a number of lines of inquiry after receiving more than 450 tip-offs from the public. However, no solid suspects had been identified.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online.
