POLICE have confirmed no human remains have been found inside the salvaged trawler FV Dianne that sunk off the coast of Queensland in October, killing six crew on board.

The vessel sank off the coast of the Town of Seventeen Seventy in October last year and after several delays was raised from the seabed before arriving into the Port of Bundaberg on Tuesday.

The Dianne was partially raised on February 12 to enable salvage crews the opportunity to conduct preparations for the final journey back to port.

Last Friday, crews began the slow journey — towing the fishing vessel back under water.

Crews are now working to pump water out of the vessel to bring it on land to conduct further investigations on how it sunk.

The FV Dianne sank in waters off the Town of Seventeen Seventy near Gladstone on October 16 with seven people on board.

The bodies of 30-year-old Adam Hoffman and 45-year-old Ben Leahy were located by police divers.

Thirty-nine-year-old Eli Tonks, 33-year-old Adam Bidner, 28-year-old Zach Feeney and 34-year-old Chris Sammut are presumed not to have survived.

Only 32-year-old Ruben McDornan survived the tragedy after clinging to the sinking vessel for hours before being swept out to sea.

He was rescued by a passing catamaran.

Disaster Victim Identification officers scoured the wreck yesterday and today, however, hopes for closure for the families of the missing men was not forthcoming.

Mystery still surrounds what caused the vessel to sink on October 16 last year, with investigators also scouring the wreck for any clue as to the cause of the disaster.
