Police search Gold Coast bushland sites for missing mother Linda Sidon
SHE’S been missing since 2009. Now police have started searching Gold Coast bushland in the hope of finding Linda Sidon.
POLICE resumed searching the Numinbah Valley in the Gold Coast hinterland on Thursday, almost two months after an initial search of the area failed to find Ms Sidon’s body.
The New Zealand-born woman hasn’t been seen since 2009.
Police originally suspected that Ms Sidon, who suffered from anxiety, depression and anorexia, had killed herself, but new information earlier in 2015 altered their mindset.
Heazlewood, 28, has been charged with Ms Sidon’s murder.
A small excavator and a team of forensic workers were at a site that, Detective Insp Hutchinson said, was one of about three that was to be looked at on Thursday.
Det Insp Hutchinson said they were “reasonably confident” Ms Sidon’s body would be found.
