Woman dead, four injured after horror two-vehicle crash in Kalkie, Queensland
Police have launched an investigation into a horror two-car crash as four people were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A woman has died and four others have been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a horror crash in Queensland’s Bundaberg Region.
The Forensic Crash Unit have launched an investigation following the two-vehicle traffic crash in Kalkie on Friday night.
A 2021 Mazda CX-8 crashed with a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder on Fe Walker Street about 8.20pm on Friday according to initial investigations.
A 57-year-old Bargara woman from the Mazda suffered critical injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
A 63-year-old man, a 30-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman — all occupants of the Mazda from Bargara — suffered serious injuries.
They were all taken to hospital along with the 46-year-old Nissan male driver, from Norville, who also suffered serious injuries.
Investigations remain ongoing as police urge anyone with information to come forward.
The death marks the 245th life lost on Queensland roads this year, compared to 231 deaths this time last year.
