‘We won’t stop till we find you’: Vow to find missing swimmer
A friend of the 21-year-old man missing off a Queensland beach has vowed that efforts to locate him will continue until he is found.
A search and rescue mission is underway to find a young man who went missing in waters off Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
Queensland Police are conducting an air and sea for the 21-year-old, known as Kyle, off Coolum Beach.
The man was last seen by friends swimming near Stumers Creek Road at about 4pm on Saturday afternoon.
He was believed to have been caught in a rip.
Police were alerted shortly after and began searching for Kyle alongside Surf Life Saving crews and Coast Guard personnel.
The search resumed again on Sunday.
Samantha Meyers, a friend of the missing man, took to Facebook to vow that efforts to locate him would continue.
“For those who don’t know Kyle had been swept in a rip yesterday afternoon at Coolum Beach and search and rescue teams are still on the hunt,” Ms Meyers said.
“Please keep your loved ones close!
“We won’t stop till we find you, we love you endlessly.”
Hundreds of comments were left on the 20-year-old’s post, with many people sending their love and support.
“Omg hope Kyle is found safe. It's a horrible thing to go through but if you need help, always here,” one user wrote.
“Your time isn't up yet man. Come home to everyone. Sending my thoughts to you and his family Sam,” another post read.
“Hope he’s found safe and sound,” a third person wrote.
“I am so sorry. I'm praying he’s found safe and well,” another user commented.
Anyone who may have any information that could help in locating Kyle is urged to contact police.
