A Queensland community is in mourning following the death of a teenager who was killed in a car crash earlier this week.

Illiana Palella, who was a Woolworths employee, died on Tuesday after an armoured Prosegur vehicle and car collided near Childers, about 300km north of Brisbane.

She was flown to Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital but died from her injuries.

Illiana was remembered as “a vibrant young girl [and] beautiful friend of many” in a GoFundMe page established to support her family in the wake of the tragedy.

“Whether it be her colleagues, friends or strangers, everyone knew that she could put a smile on anybody’s face. She comes from a hardworking, caring, and supportive family who were there with her through everything,” the page’s organiser Mackenzie Blackburn wrote.

“This tragic car accident that she had gone through caused them deep distress and emotional damage. She is loved by them so deeply.”

Ms Blackburn said Illiana was still in the hospital and the money raised would allow for her family to have her brought home.

“With these donations we can cover the costs needed for her family suffering with their loss,” she wrote.

Ms Blackburn was a colleague of Illiana’s at the Hinkler Centre Woolworths in Bundaberg.

The supermarket has revealed it would be arranging counselling for those who were close to the late teen.

Illiana was reportedly heading home from a social engagement when she became involvement in the fatal incident.

Her friend Jaime Shipp shared a tribute to the teen on social media.

“I’m going to miss you so much can’t believe that you won’t be coming home rest easy my beautiful girl,” she posted.

Another said Illiana was a “loyal, caring and bubbly”.

“She was adventurous. She would never leave your side, and was loyal, caring and bubbly,” Riylee Sutton said.
