A couple in Central Queensland have been taken to hospital following a brutal incident on their rural property.

A Queensland couple have been trampled by cattle on their rural property.

The man and woman, aged in their 60s, have suffered head and chest injuries after being crushed by cattle at their property in Banana in Central Queensland.

The incident at the property off Barfield Road occurred about 9am on Monday.

The pair are being treated by paramedics and a RACQ CapRescue 300 helicopter was sent to the scene, about 120km south of Rockhampton.

“One patient was transported stable to Biloela Hospital and a second patient was airlifted in a serious but stable condition to Rockhampton Hospital after they were reportedly trampled by cattle in Banana,” Queensland Ambulance said in a social media post.
